The brighter the better. If any one wants to donate a T shirt - can they either bring it to the next Chapter meeting or leave it at the shop for me if they let me know it is there and I will nip and collect it. Helen Lang Posted by: Webmistress07/05/09Ladies of Harley Rideout Fishermans RetreatLadies Of Harley Ride-Out Fishermans Retreat Sat 12pm 6 Hatters left the dealership & as usual as soon as we put our legs over the seat it started raining as usual. It was only a drizzle so we continued to Birch Services Where we picked up 2 more riders. One was not female but he was new so we welcomed him into our little club & we were gentle with him(I think). As we were chatting at Birch the heavens opened so we had to take shelter as it was hail stoning. We had a chat amongst ourselves and decided once it stopped we would take a short cut & go straight to the fisherman's retreat at Shuttleworth(by the way this was plan B). We set off & came off the M66 @ Heywood traveled through the centre @ diverted up Ashworth Valley over the tops past the reservoir & came out just near Old Betts pub. The road was very narrow & Thanks to Trev & Keith for looking after us & thanks to the ladies & our new members who joined us. See You All Next Time Helen Lang Ladies Point of View Ladies I talked myself out of joining the ride on sunday at least 15 times. Excuses ranging from the lousy weather to lack of supportive husband! I had to kick start myself in to action and get to the Dealership. Once there, I had lots of people to chat to and I soon forgot group riding insecurities. Thanks to Trev and Keith (for some of it) for support and Helen who lead the way. The road going to the Fishermans Retreat was muddy due to the car park renovation, which was made all the more treacherous by the rain fall. The 'nice ride on lovely country lanes' turned into a bit of an 'enduro day'. It was a good test of the old 'riding skills'. Luckily, we all arrived safe and well and had a lovely lunch. The weather was not good for most of the day, but it didn't matter. I had a great time. Thank you for all of the hard work and planning you all put into it. I can't wait for the next one. What a FAB day. Posted by: Webmistress30/08/07Amazon Heart Thunder![]() ![]() ![]()
Meeting at the dealership on Wednesday morning saw a great turn out of 20 bikes to support the Amazon ride, leaving the dealership around 11.30am lead by Keith & Meg. Making our way up the M60 – M57 then over the tops at a leisurely pace due to being stuck behind a couple of large wagons before arriving in Holmfirth and parking on the out skirts .We waited in the car park for the Amazon riders to arrive with the riders arriving around 1 .00pm and rode right passed where we were parked and into the next car park up the road! Where they had lunch before moving on. We then joined the Amazon ride in the Co- Op car park were we went through the route back to the dealership ,because of the large number of bikes now crammed into the car park it took a while to get them all out and on to the main road . Heading back over the tops once again where the view of all those bike heading down the hills on the twisting roads made a fantastic site especially the Amazon riders at the front with all the matching Harley Jackets it looked like a Harley Davidson advert ! . 8 bikes and 14 hatters with two of those being new members Len & Lenis left the dealership at 6.00pm led by Keith & Meg. Heading over the snake pass to Derwent valley and stopping at ladybower reservoir for the picnic, sadly we were attacked by a swam of man eating midges and had to eventually make a hasty retreat. Posted by: Webmistress12/06/07Congleton Market![]() ![]() ![]() Over 20 bikes followed Cheryl from the dealership to Congleton market to put their bikes on display to help Cheryl get some publicity for the market. The local press turned up to take a group photo of us sat on the bikes, with the hatters enjoying the brilliant weather sitting around chatting. After much searching of the local shops the hatters finally tracked down the ice cream shop, in a card shop of all places. You can’t hide ice cream from the hatters for long - we will find it! After a few hours at the market we headed on to Cheryl and Dave’s unit for a BBQ and what a BBQ, they really did us proud. It was a fantastic spread with enough food to feed a small army, with fresh strawberrys, sweets, drinks to follow we wanted for nothing and the hatters got stuck into what they do best, enjoying themselves. It was a great day out and all the hatters who attended agreed and say a big thank you Cheryl and Steve for their hospitality. Posted by: Webmistress19/04/07Review: Wild Hogs![]()
20 Hatters met at the Trafford Centre and thoroughly enjoyed the film, 'Wild Hogs.' We really recommend that people go and see it, well worth a trip. A group of middle-aged friends decide to rev up their routine suburban lives with a freewheeling motorcycle trip. Taking a long dreamed-of breather from their stressful jobs and family responsibilities, they can't wait to feel the freedom of the open road. Posted by: Webmistress:: Next Page >> SearchArchives
